| This video was made by Leora and her best friend, Liz around Christmas time 2002. They did each other's make-up and made several of these videos, which I treasure more than just about anything she left behind. Pictures can never do justice to show the special personality that one has. This video helps to show that she was a living, breathing human being - one of God's children, and one of MY children, with a personality all her own. She really was special and everybody knew it. The choice of songs here makes me wonder how much she knew early on about what was happening. I feel like she left this for me. Leora had already been diagnosed and had spent a month in the hospital. This was during the time of the short, month long reprieve she had before her cancer resurfaced with a vengeance. Leora (on the left) died from Leiomyosarcoma, a rare cancer, only four short months after this video was made, and five months after being diagnosed. She was fifteen.
